Dr. Rachel Monteiro
Dr. Rachel Harris Monteiro is the founder of River Oaks Dental and is a general dentist in Jacksonville, providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages in her hometown. Dr. Monteiro graduated from The Bolles School, and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Florida. She then attended dental school at the University of Louisville, where she graduated with honors.
Dr. Monteiro has a true passion for dentistry. If she’s not treating a patient, she’s reading dental journals or taking continuing education courses to be able to provide the best and most up to date care for her patients. She treats patients of all ages (her youngest patients are infants, and her oldest is 103). Dr. Monteiro strives to provide the most relaxing, comfortable, and positive dental experience possible for all patients. She has taken advanced education to safely provide sedation for her patients and is a member of DOCS, a leading organization for dental sedation. Dr. Monteiro has also earned her Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists after completing her implant training through the University of Florida. She is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, and Guild of Dental Scholars.
Dr. Monteiro is married to Marco, the co-founder and business manager of River Oaks Dental. They have two children, Noah and Juliana, and two dogs, Juneau and Periwinkle. As a fifth generation Jacksonville resident, Dr. Monteiro loves her city and actively gives back to her community. She volunteers at Mission of Mercy and Sulzbacher Center to provide dental care to those in need, and is a board member of the River Garden Foundation.

Marco Monteiro
Marco is the co-founder and business manager of River Oaks Dental. Marco is a Jacksonville native, graduating from Bishop Kenny High School and completing his undergraduate studies at Jacksonville University. He then earned his MBA with a focus on Healthcare Management at Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky. Marco loves seeing our patients smile and ensures that you have a wonderful experience at River Oaks Dental. From filing your insurance claims to reviewing your treatment and finance options, Marco makes sure you are well taken care and able to achieve your oral health goals. Marco is also our on-site handyman and IT guy!
Marco is married to Dr. Rachel Monteiro and together they have two kids-Noah and Juliana. In his free time Marco enjoys spending time with his family, playing with his dogs, woodworking, and working on his car. He is also a pro on the grill and can fix just about anything!

Rachel is our amazing dental hygienist. Rachel graduated from Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Dental Hygiene program in 2007. With 16 years of experience, Rachel brings a unique combination of knowledge, experience, and compassion for patients. Rachel is a proud Navy wife, and enjoys spending time with her husband and her fur babies. Rachel loves watching movies and series on Netflix. When she’s not working on keeping your smile beautiful and healthy, you’re likely to find her catching waves on the boogie board at the beach, fishing, kayaking, and jet-skiing.

Angie started at River Oaks Dental as a dental assistant trainee, and is now in her third year of dental school at the Univeristy of Louisville School of Dentistry where she is studying to become a dentist. Even though you won’t find her in the office anymore, Angie is still a part of the River Oaks Dental team. She uses her background in marketing and degree in English to maintain our social media accounts and write blog posts for our website (Check it out here!)
Angie loves all aspects of dentistry, especially getting to know her patients. She is also passionate about educating patients on the best ways to achieve and maintain oral health, and helping patients understand treatment options. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised in Miami, Angie loves to be by the ocean. She is scuba certified and a running enthusiast who completes at least three half marathons a year.
