RESTORE YOUR TEETH WITH A VARIETY OF OPTIONS

If failing and missing teeth are interfering with your life, we offer several ways to restore your smile using the versatility of crowns and bridges. Several of these options are outlined below.

Individual crowns for repair

A beautiful new crown is one of the best ways to repair a damaged or diseased tooth. Dr. Monteiro can place it over the top of your tooth to improve its appearance, strengthen it, and help prevent further dental problems. A crown is often used as a finishing restoration for a tooth that has been saved through root canal therapy. If your teeth are abnormally worn or misshapen, a new crown will cover the defect and make your smile more aesthetically pleasing.

We only partner with high-quality labs, and all of our crowns and bridges are made in the US. Our restorations are made from porcelain or other high-quality materials and are usually metal-free. However, if you’d like to use a specific material for your crown, such as gold, let us know and we can work with you.

Fixed bridge to replace missing teeth

Missing teeth can be a real problem.  Esthetically, a missing front tooth can ruin an otherwise beautiful smile.  A missing back tooth can make it hard to chew and cause discomfort when food irritates the gums.  More serious are the effects on the remaining teeth and bone.  When a tooth is missing, the teeth that used to touch that tooth start to shift.   Teeth always want to touch another tooth.  This can result in super-eruption, which is when a tooth actually grows further out of it socket.  This can cause food impaction and permanent changes to your bite, and overtime can result in the tooth becoming loose as it continues to erupt.  A missing tooth also causes increase wear and tear on the remaining teeth.  Suddenly, these teeth are prone to gum disease, biting pain, and even fracture.

We have many ways to replace missing teeth-and a fixed bridge can be an excellent option.  Benefits are quick treatment time, never having to go with a missing tooth after extraction, beautiful esthetics, and generally no need for additional surgeries.

Using this type of bridge, Dr. Monteiro can replace your missing teeth. Your bridge will consist of sturdy new crowns on either end, with one or more replacement teeth in the middle. We’ll anchor the end crowns to your other teeth to provide a stable and long-lasting restoration.

Bridges are placed permanently on the teeth and do not come in and out of your mouth like a partial denture. It should provide you many years of service, requiring only normal brushing and flossing and regular dental checkups.

Implant Supported Crown

Combined with dental implants, crowns can replace individual missing teeth. Dental implants are small posts made from titanium that function as replacement tooth roots. Once they are inserted into your jaw, they will begin to chemically fuse with the bone in a process called osseointegration.

Your body will accept the implant, and new bone material will actually begin to grow around it. This process will strengthen your jaw, helping prevent bone loss and potential changes in your facial structure. After the healing process is complete, we’ll place your new crown on top of the implant, and you’ll have virtually all your biting and chewing power restored. Plus, your smile will be more attractive, and you’ll naturally exude more confidence!

Implant supported bridge

Unlike a traditional fixed bridge, this appliance will anchor to two or more dental implants. It can be used to replace three or more teeth in a row. Like other bridges, it is not designed to be removed except by a dentist. It will blend in naturally with the rest of your smile, and others will not be able to tell that you have replacement teeth. As with a single implant crown, this bridge will help preserve the integrity of your jawbone and help you avoid a “sunken-face” appearance.
